Whole Foods To Open New, Small-Format Stores: Look Inside
Whole Foods says it will be launching new small-format stores aimed at providing customers with a quick, convenient shopping experience. The company says the stores, targeting urban areas, will provide "easier access to the fresh, high-quality offerings." The new stores will be called Whole Foods Market Daily Shop. Community Rallies To Save Historic Building From Demolition In Stamford
Nearly 1,500 have signed a Change.org petition to save three buildings in Stamford's South End National Register Historic District that are slated for demolition in six months. This Interactive Map Shows Where Rats Are In NYC With 38 Percent Population Increase In 5 Years
New York City residents have been forced to welcome some unwanted visitors in the neighborhood as the rat population continues to soar. Since 2014, rat sightings are up 38 percent, according to watchdog site OpenTheBooks.com. There were 12,617 sightings reported in 2014, a number which has jumped to 17,353 just four years later. In response to the growing population, Open the Books, a nonprofit organization, has created an interactive map to allow area residents to see each reported rat sighting in their current or prospective neighborhood. Theater At Maritime Aquarium Still Alive
A subcommittee of the Norwalk Common Council has endorsed a settlement agreement under which the state of Connecticut would pay The Maritime Aquarium $34.5 million to replace its popular IMAX Theater. Under the agreement, the state Department of Transportation would pay the aquarium to replace the theater and lost exhibit space due to the upcoming replacement of the Walk Bridge over the Norwalk River, according to news reports.
