Jamie Petrone, age 43, a former resident of Naugatuck, was sentenced on Thursday, Oct. 13, to nine years in prison followed by three years of supervised release for wire fraud and filing a false tax return, according to Vanessa Roberts Avery, United States attorney for the District of Connecticut. Nine ATVs, Dirt Bikes Seized In Effort To Stop Group Terrorizing On Roadways, Police Say In an effort to put a stop to groups of dirt bikes, quads, and motorcycle riders terrorizing drivers on the roadway, one city has seized nine vehicles during a special operation. The vehicles were seized in two different operations conducted in Fairfield County by a special Bridgeport Police detail, said Bridgeport Mayor Joe Ganim. New York State Police troopers from the Somers barracks issued 50 vehicle and traffic tickets to drivers committing various violations on a stretch of the interstate on Saturday, Feb. 1. Kadian Shamar Davis, of Greenwich, was arrested Monday on Greenwich Avenue after a registration check came back to a white Lexus wagon, but she was driving a black Lexus wagon, Greenwich Police said. When stopped, the VIN numbers matched the license plate registration, but Davis told officers that the registered owner had not reported the paint change to the DMV, which is required, police said. Swerving Mercedes Motorist Under Influence, Greenwich Police Say A 72-year-old was busted over Labor Day weekend for allegedly drinking and driving in Greenwich. A patrol officer from the Greenwich Police Department was driving east on West Putnam Avenue behind a white Mercedes-Benz, which was swerving and unable to drive within its established lane. Police said that during the subsequent traffic stop, it was determined that Greenwich resident John Pastore had alcohol on his breath and failed three Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.
