Crews Extinguish Blaze At Fairfield County Residence Firefighters worked overnight to extinguish a blaze that broke out at a Fairfield County home. Crews responded to a deck fire at a home on Island Way in Westport at about 1:40 a.m. on Monday, July 25, according to the Town of Westport Fire Department. A mutual aid truck company from Norwalk also responded to the scene. The single-vehicle crash took place around 10 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 16, on Cross Highway at the intersection of Wildwood Lane, said officials with the Town of Westport Fire Department.
