Man Accused In Scheme To Scam Fairfield County Couple Out Of $8,900, Police Say A 40-year-old man was arrested and accused of taking part in a scheme to scam a Fairfield County couple out of $8,900.Kylo Simons, of Hartford, was arrested at 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, according to Connecticut State Police. Police said Simons was charged with: Second-degree larceny Criminal impersonation Third-degree burglary  State police said Simons was involved in a bail scam where a caller posed as the New Fairfield couple's grandson and said he was in jail. Man With Decades-Long History Of Burglaries Steals $25K From New Canaan Home, Police Say More than a year after the crime took place, DNA left on a rubber glove at the scene of a burglarized Fairfield County home connected a man with a history of burglaries dating back to 1983 to the theft of $25,000, according to police.  The New Canaan home was reportedly broken into on March 25, 2019. Ezra Hill of Stamford, 54, was arrested on a warrant on Monday, Sept. 1 and is currently incarcerated at Bridgeport Correctional Facility.  Hill was charged with the felonies of first-degree larceny and third-degree burglary, and will have his day in court on Friday, Oct. 16.

Connecticut Inmate Strangled With A Covid-19 Mask An inmate at the Corrigan-Radgowski Correctional Center in Connecticut was found strangled with a COVID-19 mask, police said. Daniel Ocasio, of Windsor, died Wednesday, Aug. 12. He was discovered by police sitting on a bunk in his cell with a cloth mask tied around his neck, police said. Ocasio had been in prison since Aug. 5. The facility is in Montville. He was awaiting trial on a charge of third-degree burglary. The medical examiner’s office will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death and whether it was a suicide, homicide, or accident.
