Intoxicated Man Driving Twice The Speed Limit Resists Arrest, New Canaan Police Say A local 53-year-old man is facing charges after driving more than twice the speed limit and resisting arrest during a traffic stop, New Canaan Police say. The stop occurred around the area of 193 Summer Street at around 10 p.m. An officer on patrol noticed a vehicle traveling northbound on Main Street at 52 mph in a 25 mph zone. Police stopped the vehicle in the driveway of the operator’s Summer Street home. Upon speaking with the vehicle’s driver, Steven Larkin, police detected an odor of alcohol.
