Officer Saves Suicidal Man From Jumping Off Bridge In Fairfield County A Fairfield County police officer who was on his way to work saved a suicidal man from jumping off a bridge overpass. The incident took place around 6:45 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 23, as the Westport Police officer was driving through Fairfield on his way to Westport. According to Lieutenant David Wolf, of the Westport Police, Officer Brian Meraviglia encountered a suicidal man who was preparing to jump off the Redding Road overpass onto the Merritt Parkway below. Meraviglia got out of his car and started talking with the man who was obviously distraught, Wolf said.  …
