A stretch of I-95 in Connecticut will be temporarily shut down as utility crews make emergency repairs to power lines that were damaged. Downed power lines forced the closure of a part of the interstate in southeastern Connecticut at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 2, according to officials. Downed wires led to the closure of a busy roadway in Stamford. The Stamford Police Department announced that at approximately 1 p.m., they were forced to close Myrtle Avenue between William Street and Warren Street due to downed live wires in the area. One Killed In Crash That Causes I-95 Closure In Westport
This story has been updated. One person was killed and two hospitalized in an overnight single-vehicle crash that caused the hours-long closure of a stretch I-95. All three occupants of the vehicle were hospitalized following the crash, which occurred on the southbound side just north of Exit 17 in Westport at about 3:45 a.m., state police said.
