Spitting Incident Not Racially Motivated, School Principal Says A group of students in a Fairfield County school were thrown out of the Smithsonian’s African American History Museum in Washington, D.C. after a white student spit on a black visitor. A student from the Shelton Intermediate School reportedly spit over a balcony during a visit on Friday, Oct. 11, hitting an African American visitor below. The incident is not believed to be racially motivated, according to school officials.
