A lucky area resident cashed in a winning $100,000 lotto ticket that was sold at a Connecticut liquor store.
On Friday, Aug. 27, Middlesex County, Massachusetts resident Dolores Ortiz Morgan, of Waltham, won $100,000 playing "CASH5" on a ticket sold at the Dworken Wine & Liquor store in Bridgeport.

Covid-19: CDC Survey Reveals Percentage Of CT Residents Who've Had Virus
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) teamed with commercial laboratories to find the percentage of those who have tested positive for COVID-19 in 10 specifically targeted regions, including Connecticut.
Other regions included in the survey were the New York City metro area (the five boroughs, Long Island and Westchester County), Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Philadelphia, San Francisco, South Florida, Utah, and Western Washington State.

Port Chester Man Sentenced To Prison Time For Forcibly Raping Teen Girl
A man who forcibly raped a teenage girl and managed to evade capture by police investigators for nearly a year has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison.
Port Chester resident Antonio Olivarez, 41, has been sentenced to 13 years in state prison after pleading guilty to first-degree rape, a violent felony, in May.
In addition to his prison term, Olivarez will serve 20 years of post-release supervision and will be required to register as a sex offender.
