Person Struck By Tractor-Trailer In Fairfield County A pedestrian was hit by a tractor-trailer and seriously injured on I-84 in Fairfield County. Connecticut State Police said the incident took place around 3:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25 near Exit 11 in Newtown. Responding troopers said the person was transported to an area hospital for treatment. The roadway was closed for several hours, backing up traffic for at least eight miles, before reopening later on Monday morning. The extent of injuries was not immediately provided. Pedestrian Killed In Fatal I-95 Crash A pedestrian was killed after being hit by a delivery van in Westchester. The incident happened around 5:32 a.m., Monday, March 8, when the New York State Police received a report from NYPD of a pedestrian struck by a delivery van in the southbound lanes of I-95 just north of Exit 14 in the town of Pelham, said the New York State Police. A preliminary investigation has determined that the pedestrian was struck at approximately 5:12 a.m., and FDNY Ambulance initially responded and treated the pedestrian, who was declared dead at 5:35 a.m.  The driver of the delivery van was not injured…

Westport Police Seeking Public's Help Locating Hit-Run Driver The Westport Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying a vehicle and person involved in a hit-and-run crash. The crash took place around 3:26 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8, in the area of 30 Beachside Ave., said Westport Police Lt. Anthony Prezioso. During the accident, a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that ultimately fled the scene. The pedestrian sustained a significant but non-life-threatening leg injury as a result of the crash, Prezioso said.
