Home Burglary: Police Seek Help In Tracking Down Pair Of Suspects
Police in Fairfield County are asking the public for any videos they may have to help catch two men who allegedly committed a home burglary. The burglary took place in Ridgefield around 7 p.m., Monday, May 29 on Pinecrest Drive near North Street. According to Capt. Jeff Raines, of the Ridgefield Police, the burglary appeared to involve two men dressed in dark clothing. Three Business Burglaries Under Investigation In Ridgefield
Three commercial burglaries in Northern Fairfield County are under investigation after suspects broke into businesses and stole cash and cash registers. An alert was issued by Ridgefield Police Capt. Shawn Platt who said that three burglaries were reported overnight on Monday, Oct. 26. Platt said that in each instance, forced entry was made by breaking a door window and unlocking a door. Car Crashes Into Pole Near School In Ridgefield
A roadway was closed by police after a driver crashed into a utility pole near an area elementary school in Ridgefield. Police closed Barlow Mountain Road at the intersection of North Street at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5 after a driver struck the pole and felled wires near Scotland Elementary School. Only one vehicle was involved in the crash, with one reported injury. According to the Ridgefield Police Department, parents can use Ledges Road to access the Barlow Mountain School and Scotland School area.

Speed Limits Changed On Nine Roads In Ridgefield
Several changes have been made to the speed limits on a total of nine roads in Ridgefield, according to the Ridgefield Police Department. These speed limits went into effect between Thursday, May 30 and Friday, May 31 and are in line with the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s Office of the State Traffic Administration approved town road speed limits. The following town roads and/or portions of town roads have been altered: 1. Lafayette Ave – Washington Street to Copps Hill Road (changed to 20 mph) 2. Hit-Run SUV Driver On Loose: Motorist With NY Plates Crashes Into Utility Pole In Ridgefield
Did you see anything? Police investigators in Ridgefield are seeking the public’s assistance as they attempt to gather information about a one-one-vehicle crash that destroyed a utility pole. According to police, at approximately 10:50 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, a vehicle struck the pole on North Street, breaking it into several pieces. Road Closures Scheduled In Ridgefield During Ex-Chief's Funeral
With services scheduled for Ridgefield Police Chief John Roche on Friday, there will be road closures and delays for the funeral procession as it travels through town. Less than a week into his retirement following nearly four decades servicing the community, the former chief died last week. No cause of death has been released.
