Two Lanes Of Westchester Avenue In Port Chester To Close For 6 Days Motorists are being warned that two lanes of a busy road in Westchester County will soon close.  Beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 1, two lanes of Westchester Avenue westbound in Port Chester between U.S. Route 1 (North Main Street) and Abendroth Avenue will close between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. through Sunday, Nov. 6, the New York Department of Transportation announced.  The closure is to allow for the movement of equipment, officials said.

Firefighters responded to a house fire on North Main Street in Port Chester at about 9:50 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 28, the Port Chester Fire Department said. Authorities found heavy fire that had traveled up the entire back of the home and into the back of the first, second, and third floors, officials said. Reward Offered In Search For SUV Driver In Port Chester Hit-Run A reward has been issued as police attempt to track down the driver who was involved in a hit-and-run that hospitalized a 78-year-old man in the area. The New York State Crime Stoppers issued a reward of up to $2,500 as police search for the woman that struck Jose Cortes in Port Chester on Tuesday as he was crossing the road. According to police, “a woman with light skin and dark hair was driving a white, silver, or light-colored SUV believed to be a Ford Explorer or Expedition” struck Cortes at approximately 4:55 p.m. on North Main Street before fleeing onto Highland Street.
