Ex-Girlfriend Arrested After Man Found Shot Dead In Driver's Seat On Route 7 In Norwalk
Months after a 35-year-old man was found shot dead in the driver's seat of a car on Route 7 in Norwalk, his ex-girlfriend has been accused of helping to kill him, police said.
Liliana Mejia, age 24, was arrested on Wednesday, Oct. 4, and charged in connection to the death of 35-year-old John Gavilanes of Norwalk, state police announced.

CT Moped Driver Killed In Crash, Police Say
A 35-year-old Connecticut man driving a moped was killed during a crash with a Nissan.
The crash took place in New Haven around 5:40 a.m., Sunday, July 31 on Ella T. Grasso Boulevard.
When officers responded to the scene, located between Adeline Street and Printers Lane, they found the driver of the moped, identified as Antonio Cruz-Oritz, of New Haven unresponsive, said Sgt. Scott Shumway, of the New Haven Police.
American Medical Response transported Cruz-Ortiz to Yale New Haven Hospital where he died from his injuries, Shumway said.

Just after 6 a.m. Friday, Dec. 24, a Daibeliz Taveras, age 33, from Brooklyn, New York, traveling northbound on I-95 a half-mile south of the Exit 17 off-ramp in Norwalk lost control of her 2018 Dodge Journey and struck another vehicle, before drifting and colliding with the cruiser, state police said.
