Off-Duty Firefighter Rescues Woman From Burning Car In Fairfield County An off-duty firefighter saved a woman from a burning vehicle involved in a crash in Fairfield County over the weekend. The incident took place in Brookfield around 3:15 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 26, on Route 7 northbound in the area of the Junction Road overpass. Brookfield Volunteer firefighters and EMS were dispatched for a single-car accident with fire and entrapment, the department said on Facebook.
