Missing CT Woman Found Dead On Shore Of River, Police Say A Connecticut woman who was reported missing was found dead a day later floating on the shore of a river. The incident took place in New Haven County on Friday, March 3, around 2:30 p.m. in West Haven. Connecticut Department of Transportation workers contacted police after spotting what appeared to be a body on the westside shore of the West River by the Kimberly Avenue Bridge, said Sgt. Samuel Byrd was last seen in June 1977 after his graduation from Hamden High School, when he was 18 years old, the New Haven Police Department said in an announcement posted on Monday, Jan. 2. None of the members of his family have heard from him since. Police believe Byrd may have taken a limo from New Haven to an unknown location, which may have been the airport.
