Alleged Burglar Charged In $25K Jewelry Heist Also Wanted For Greenwich Burglaries
A 29-year-old man has been charged with three Fairfield County burglaries, including one in which he allegedly stole more than $25,000 in jewelry.
The burglaries occurred on Saturday, Nov. 11, 2023, in Darien and Greenwich.
According to Sgt. Mauricio Vigil of the Darien Police, Carlos Andres Buitrago-Pinzon, of Queens, was charged on Monday, July 16, on a warrant while at the Westchester County Detention Center.

New Covid-19 Numbers In Westchester 'Encouraging,' Says Latimer: Latest Cases By Municipality
The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) numbers in Westchester “are encouraging,” according to County Executive George Latimer.
As the county enters its third month combating COVID-19, Latimer said that there have been a total of 29,323 positive cases of the 99,442 Westchester residents tested.
Of those cases, there have been 1,049 residents who died from the virus since the outbreak began in New Rochelle in early March.
There are currently 6,756 active cases in Westchester, which is down from 8,000 cases approximately a month ago, and more than 11,000 at the peak of the outbreak.

Danbury Woman Seriously Injured In Wrong-Way Crash
A Fairfield County woman was seriously injured when a wrong-way driver collided with her car on the Saw Mill River Parkway in Northern Westchester.
The incident occurred about 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 28, on the northbound Saw Mill just north of Marble Avenue, in Mount Pleasant, said Kieran O'Leary, spokesman for the Westchester County Police.
The wrong-way driver, identified as Anthony Rodriguez, 42 of Yonkers, traveled along Grant Street in Pleasantville and then turned left to proceed south on the Saw Mill, O'Leary said.

Great Neck resident Matthew Bonanno, 47, who practices in the upper East Side in Manhattan, was overheard threatening his wife, who lives in Tuckahoe, officials said.
