A Hudson Valley woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly hitting a dog with her car and fleeing the scene, leaving the severely injured pet to suffer, authorities said.

New Hampshire Man In Custody After Hours-Long Standoff At Connecticut Hotel
After a standoff that lasted more than three hours, a New England man who was barricaded in a hotel room with a woman was arrested by police.
Jordan Pappalardo, age 26, of Manchester, New Hampshire, was arrested on Monday, April 26, in Connecticut by Manchester Police after he told officers he had a gun and refused to come out of the Courtyard By Marriott, said Lt. Ryan Shea of the Manchester Police Department.

The original Ann Taylor’s in New Haven closed for good on Monday, July 27.
The retailers first launched from New Haven in 1954, eventually growing to a women’s clothing store giant.
Ann Taylor’s parent company, Ascena, filed for bankruptcy earlier this month. In addition to Ann Taylor, Ascena owns the brands: LOFT, Lane Bryant, Justice, Catherines, Cacique, and Lou & Grey. All of the retailers will continue to operate, though many of its 2,800 stores will be closed, according to Ascena. Catherines is being sold to City Chic.
