Suspect In Southbury Police Standoff Struck Trooper, Police Say A man who held police at bay for more than 14 hours was arrested after striking a Connecticut State Trooper while surrendering to police.  During a search of his home, troopers found numerous weapons. The incident began around 2 a.m. Monday when state police, along with Southbury officers, responded to a domestic violence call at the home of Joseph Michael Stotz, 38, of Southbury, said Trooper Kelly Grant.
