Bridge Work To Cause Lane Shifts, Closures Along I-95, I-287 For 5 Months An ongoing bridge replacement project is set to cause several lane shifts and reductions on Interstate 95 and 287 in Westchester for more than five months, officials announced.  The new lane configurations, which will affect Interstate 95 and Interstate 287 in Rye and Port Chester, will go into effect on Monday, April 1 at 8 p.m. and are expected to continue through Sunday, Sept. 15, according to the New York State Department of Transportation.  The lane shifts and reductions will allow crews to work on the ongoing project to replace the bridges carrying I-287 over Midland Avenue.…

Tractor-Trailer Bursts Into Flames On I-287 In Port Chester A tractor-trailer fire on a highway in Westchester caused a plume of smoke to soar into the air as the vehicle was fully engulfed.  The incident happened on Monday, July 24 around 5:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 287 in Port Chester near Exit 11, according to the Port Chester Fire Department.  When crews arrived at the blaze, they found the vehicle's occupants outside and knew the response would be prolonged because of the intensity of the flames, the department said.  With the help of the Rye, Rye Brook, and Purchase Fire Departments, the fire was eventually put out after several hours.…

All Lanes Open Following Four-Vehicle Crash On I-287 In Westchester This story has been updated. A multiple-vehicle crash on Interstate 287 in Westchester that closed all but one lane of traffic has been cleared, state police said. The crash, which included two passenger vehicles and two tractor-trailers, took place around 10 a.m. Friday, March 15, on the Thruway in Port Chester between exit 10 and 11, said Trooper Tara McCormick, spokeswoman for the New York State Police. One person was injured during the crash.  Currently, there are slight delays.
