A 6-year-old boy was airlifted to a hospital with severe lacerations following a crash on I-87 in the Hudson Valley. The collision occurred around 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 22, on I-87 in Orange County in the town of Newburgh. According to Trooper Tara McCormick of the New York State Police, a preliminary investigation at the scene determined that a 2022 Toyota Tundra was parked on the right shoulder when the driver, Connecticut resident Peter W. A traffic stop on I-87 in the region led to the arrests of two men - one from Fairfield County - who were busted with nearly a kilogram of crack cocaine and a pair of illegally loaded handguns, New York State Police officials announced. Police in Connecticut are asking the public for help identifying three men wanted in connection with multiple thefts and a carjacking. In Fairfield County, the Bridgeport Police Department's Robbery/Burglary Unit is looking to identify the individual shown wearing the Adidas tee-shirt. CT Man Rams Two Cruisers During Pursuit, Police Say
A Connecticut man was arrested by New York State Police for allegedly fleeing officers and ramming two police vehicles in an effort to escape before finally being apprehended in Westchester County. The incident started around 4 p.m. Thursday, June 24, when New York State Police were assisting the Mahwah, New Jersey, Police Department and South Nyack Police Department with a pursuit that entered I-287 and continued south on I-87, said Trooper Tara McCormick. A Fairfield County man had a suspended license and blood alcohol content nearly triple the legal limit when he was stopped by New York State Police troopers in Westchester. Troopers on patrol at approximately 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, July 12, stopped Stamford resident Yiriy Svistelnytskyy on I-87 in Harrison for multiple traffic violations. A tornado touched down in New York State when a round of severe storms sweep through the region Friday night, May 15, the National Weather Service confirmed. The twister was in one of the northern areas of New York and Connecticut in which a Tornado Watch was in effect. There will be lane closures and potential delays for motorists on the Saw Mill River Parkway for the next two months in Westchester.
