'Family Came First': Mom Killed In CT Crash Was Going Home For Daughter's Birthday
For Paula Garcia, there was nothing more important than her family.
The Hampshire County, Massachusetts, mother of three lived for her children, her husband Joe Bock said in an interview with the Daily Voice.
Paula was killed Tuesday, Jan. 9, while returning to her Easthampton home after the car she was in was hit by a tractor-trailer in Hartford, Connecticut, state police said.
It was her daughter Alba's 13th birthday, Bock said. Paula's birthday was a day later.

Stafford Springs resident John Mordasky died on Saturday, April 1 at the age of 97, according to his obituary.
Born and raised in Stafford, Mordasky, a Democrat, represented Connecticut's 52nd District for 22 years while simultaneously making sure he had the time to milk his cows twice a day, his obituary said.

Homes in some regions in Connecticut are being considered “undervalued” amid the current housing bubble, according to a new Fortune Magazine report.
Fortune studied home price growth, which is wildly outpacing income growth across the country, with areas in Connecticut considered “overvalued" or “undervalued.”
Specifically, in Fairfield County, Bridgeport, Stamford, and Norwalk were considered undervalued.
Also undervalued for housing are Hartford, East Hartford, and Middletown, the report said.

Teenage New Hampshire Kidnapping Suspect Nabbed In Connecticut
A teen has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping two juveniles girls from their home.
Cameron Snody, age 19, of Forth Worth, Texas, was arrested on Friday, March 19, by Connecticut State Police in Hartford, after troopers received an Amber Alert out of Swanzey, New Hampshire.
According to police, it was reported that Snody traveled to Swanzey, in Chesire County, in order to meet the two juveniles ages 12 and 17.
Snody then stole a vehicle described as a 2006 Saturn Ion, and fled with the girls, state police said.

Two men have been charged for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping and murder of a Massachusetts man whose body was found in a burning vehicle in Connecticut.
Bradon Batiste, 33, of Spring, Massachusetts, and Calvin Roberson, 38, of Waterbury, were arrested Thursday, Feb. 11, for the Dec. 26 death of a Massachusetts man found in Hartford, said John Durham, U.S. States Attorney for the District of Connecticut.
Batiste was arrested in Athens, Georgia, and Roberson was arrested in Waterbury.

A 21-year-old was arrested for the murder of another man last month.
Franklin County resident Jordan Register, of Greenfield, Massachusetts, was arrested on Thursday, Feb. 4, for the Friday, January 29, murder of Michael Dudley, age 27, of Durham, Connecticut, in Hartford, said Hartford Police Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert.
On the night of the killing, Hartford Police patrol officers responded to the Webster Street area on a report of a gunshot victim.
