Members of the Greenwich Police Marine Section assisted in the rescue of a distraught man from the Long Island Sound off of Mamaroneck on Saturday afternoon, June 1. Officers Frank DiPietro and Joseph Turscanyi of the Greenwich Police Departments Marine Section received a Mayday call requesting assistance with a vessel in distress and a man overboard in the area of navigation buoy 40, according to Greenwich Police. Man Rescued From Overturned Boat On Long Island Sound By Greenwich Police
A Stamford man was rescued off of an overturned boat in Long Island Sound by the Greenwich Police Marine Section, said the Greenwich Police. The incident took place around 11:35 a.m., Monday, April 22, when Greenwich Police were contacted about a boat overturned by Lucas Point, said Greenwich Police Lt. John Slusarz. Marine officers responded and discovered a 46-year-old male who was holding onto the hull of an overturned boat, Slusarz said.
