New Chief To Head Darien Police Department A new chief will soon take over the reins of a Fairfield County police department, but he's no stranger to the area with 28 years of police work under his belt. The Darien Police Commission announced on Tuesday, Feb. 27 the appointment of Capt. Jeremiah P. Marron, Jr. as the department's 12th Chief of Police.  Marron, a 28-year veteran of the department, will assume command of the department on Friday, April 1, following the retirement of the current Chief, Donald B.
