Demolition has begun on a landmark Connecticut synagogue, making way for a $27 million housing development. The building known for its colorful stained-glass windows stood as Agudas Achim at 1244 North Main St. for decades before being sold for $1.6 million to Trout Brook Realty Advisors Inc., the development arm of the West Hartford Housing Authority, in December 2024. Traffic Alert: Roadway To Close For Building Demolition In Darien
Drivers in Fairfield County will need to adjust their travel route for more than a week as a 3-story building is demolished. Corbin Drive in Darien will be closed at Post Road beginning Monday, Sept. 25 through Tuesday, Oct. 3 for the demolition of the building at 10 Corbin Drive, Darien Police said. The road will be closed daily from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. daily. The businesses located on Corbin Drive will be open and accessible during these times by using the Old King’s Highway South end of Corbin Drive, officials said.

Demolition Of St John's Tower Causing Road Closure In Stamford
Due to delays in the demolition of St. John’s Tower and a partial collapse on Wednesday, police in Stamford announced a road closure in the area surrounding the construction site. The Stamford Police Department announced that due to the ongoing demolition of the tower, Washington Boulevard is closed north and south between Main Street and Tresser Boulevard. There will be a detour on Washington Boulevard at Broad Street for southbound traffic until further notice.
