Connecticut has introduced new COVID-19 guidance for schools in an effort to keep children learning in the classroom for as long as possible. Gov. Ned Lamont announced the rollout of the “Screen and Stay” initiative for Connecticut schools that choose to participate in the program. A new age group in Connecticut will be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as of Thursday morning. Gov. Ned Lamont said that Connecticut remains on track to expand COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to all adults over the age of 16 beginning on Thursday, April 1. Additionally, more than 100 additional pharmacies across Connecticut will be added to the state’s vaccination program. With Connecticut expecting a new influx of COVID-19 vaccines from the federal government, Gov. Ned Lamont is now saying the state will be accelerating its vaccination rollout. Lamont announced on Monday, March 15 that in an effort to proceed on a quicker schedule than originally planned, the state was revising its schedule for different age groups. A Fairfield County Walmart location will soon begin providing COVID-19 vaccinations to those eligible to receive the first dosage of the much sought after vaccine. Walmart on Connecticut Avenue in Norwalk is one of seven Walmarts in the state that will be offering the vaccine to those eligible under Connecticut’s “Phase 1B,” which includes anyone over the age of 65. 19: CVS Starts Offering Vaccinations At These CT Pharmacies
Four new CVS locations in Connecticut will soon be offering COVID-19 vaccinations for those eligible as the state continues combating the virus. CVS announced that pharmacies in Colchester, Putnam, Waterford, and Windsor Locks will begin accepting appointments for the vaccine beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 9 for those eligible.
