State’s Severe Cold Weather Protocol Activated As Frigid Temps Near With temperatures expected to plummet, shelters and warming centers are being opened up in Connecticut. Gov. Ned Lamont announced on Thursday, Feb. 13 that with temperatures anticipated to potentially reach single digits, the state has activated its Severe Cold Weather Protocol.
