2020 Strikes Again - 65-Foot Symbol Of Hope Toppled In Connecticut In a moment that was just so 2020, the beloved New Haven Christmas tree seems to be damaged beyond repair. The 65-foot-tall tree, a focal point for the city's holiday celebrations, was blown over by high winds on Sunday, Nov. 15. Each year, New Haven prides itself on choosing the most beautiful tree for the city’s Green. This year’s tree, a Norway Spruce Evergreen, came from Budding Ridge Road in Cheshire. The tree has come to symbolize community, hope, and heart - as well as commercialism.  No one was injured when the tree fell over, but it does not seem like it is going back up. On…

Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree From Hudson Valley Arrives In Manhattan The Hudson Valley will have a prominent and permanent presence throughout the holiday season in midtown Manhattan. This year's Rockefeller Center Christmas tree has arrived in Manhattan from Orange County.  The Norway Spruce, the property of a farmhouse in the hamlet of Wallkill in the Town of Newburgh, was cut down on Thursday, Nov. 8 before arriving in New York City on Saturday, Nov. 10 via a flatbed truck.
