New England Native Sets Yankees Rookie Home Run Record
The Yankees are among the greatest franchises in sports history, but none of the team's Hall of Famers did what Massachusetts native Ben Rice was able to pull off. The Cohasset native hit three home runs in the Yankees' 14-4 shellacking of the Boston Red Sox on Saturday, July 6 in the Bronx. It was the most times a rookie has ever gone yard in a single game for the Yanks. “It’s definitely a day I’ll never forget,” Rice told MLB.com. “I’m just pumped that it was a big-time win for us, a good bounce-back win, and over my hometown team. The 71-year-old Valentine can't pinpoint…

Major League Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred named Beltran in his newly released report, which highlighted the extent that some members of the Astros organization went through to steal signs during their World Series sea…

A Fairfield County man who was a passenger on a Metro-North train in Westchester when a man was electrocuted after climbing on the roof of a train said the event was a "horrible" experience.
