Man Struck By Car In Bridgeport Seriously Injured, Police Say A man struck by a car while walking along a Fairfield County roadway was seriously injured. The crash occurred in Bridgeport around 7 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 9 at the intersection of Beechmont Avenue and Springdale Street. According to Capt. Lonnie Blackwell of the Bridgeport Police, the unidentified man was struck by a 2011 gray Nissan Altima traveling southbound on Beechmont Avenue. "The victim was in the roadway walking southbound on Beechmont Avenue," Blackwell said.  The victim was transported to St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport, for serious injuries sustained at the scene…

Shooting Leaves One Person Injured In Bridgeport A shooting has left one person with non-life threatening injuries in Bridgeport. The shots were reported around 11:26 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 14, when the Bridgeport Emergency Communications Center received numerous calls on several shots fired in the 600 block area of Beechmont Avenue, said Scott Appleby, director of the Office of Emergency Management.
