7-Year-Old Killed In House Fire A 7-year-old child was killed after they were trapped inside a burning home in New London County Tuesday evening, Oct. 15, authorities said.  Firefighters were called to a home at 83 Summit Street in Norwich just before 5:30 p.m. to reports of a two-story house fire. Multiple 911 calls said a child was trapped inside.  Norwich firefighters were quick to the scene and battled their way inside the burning home and were able to carry the 7-year-old outside, where paramedics were waiting to take the child to Backus Hospital while performing lifesaving measures, authorities said. …
