A Fairfield County man has been sentenced to four years in prison for his role in an auto theft ring that included using the vehicles in violent crimes.
Christopher "Chucky" Mulkern, age 22, of Stratford, was sentenced on Monday, Jan. 3, to prison time, followed by three years of supervised release, said Leonard C Boyle, US Attorney for the District of Connecticut.

Man Arrested In Connection With Fairfield County Vehicle Burglary, Theft, Police Say
A Fairfield County man has been arrested for allegedly stealing one vehicle and credit cards from a second.
Christopher Mulkern, age 21, of Stratford, was arrested on Thursday, July 8, for the incident which took place in December 2020 in Darien, said Sgt. James Palmieri.
According to Palmieri, after the December incident, officers were investigating an auto larceny at 2 Whaling Road in Darien where a messenger bag was taken from a parked motor vehicle.

Mercedes Forcibly Stolen From Sleeping Greenwich Woman Located, Police Say
A gray 2018 Mercedes-Benz SUV stolen from a woman sleeping inside has been recovered in Fairfield County.
The sleeping woman was dragged from the vehicle by two men wearing masks around 3:15 a.m., Tuesday, June 1, in the area of East Putnam Avenue and Milbank Avenue, said Greenwich PD Captain Mark E. Zuccerella.
The woman woke to the sight of two men, wearing all black, removing her from the running vehicle, according to Zuccerella.

Escaped Convict Eludes Capture Again In Greenwich Chase, Police Say
Police spent hours searching for an escaped convict who was a passenger in an alleged stolen vehicle in Fairfield County.
The incident began around 10:47 a.m., Monday, April 5, when a Greenwich Police detective spotted a suspected stolen vehicle in February from Cos Cos Avenue while on South Beach Avenue, said Greenwich Police Captain Mark Zuccerella.
The detective put out a call to patrol officers who began looking for the vehicle, Zuccerella said.
