Miss Connecticut Bridget Oei fell short by to Miss New York in Sunday night's Miss America competition The 22-year-old Irish step dancer from Hebron -- named among the eight contestants to watch by Cosmopolitan -- was first runner up in the 2019 contest. Miss New York Nia Franklin was crowned Miss America. Oei is ranked the fifth best Irish dancer in the world and graduated from UConn with a degree in environmental chemistry.
