Man Extradited From Hawaii For CT Homicide
More than 11 years after the crime, a suspect is facing charges for his involvement in the 2011 murder of a Connecticut man.
Andrew Spino, age 34, was extradited from Hawaii, where he was in jail on unrelated charges, by US Marshals to New Haven County in connection with the March 2011 murder of Isaia Hernandez in Ansonia.
The investigation into the homicide of Hernandez began on Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at 6:10 p.m., when the Ansonia Police Department received a complaint of a person shot in front of the Xtra Mart on Wakelee Avenue, said Lt. Patrick Lynch of the Ansonia Police.

Three Suspects Who Robbed CT Man In Broad Daylight On Run, Police Say
Police are searching for three suspects who allegedly robbed a man while he was sitting in his vehicle in Connecticut.
The incident took place around 11:10 a.m., Thursday, July 15, in Ansonia in the area of Wakelee Avenue and Pork Hollow Road, Lieutenant Patrick Lynch said.
According to Lynch, the three men approached the victim after he parked on Pork Hollow Road, two were armed with handguns, and the suspects stole personal items from the victim.

Teen Allegedly Ditched Stolen Car In Homeowner's Driveway
An area man was arrested after he left a truck he had allegedly stolen in the driveway of a home and walked away.
Kyle Barone, 18, of Milford, was arrested on Monday, Nov. 30, by the Ansonia Police Department after receiving a suspicious activity complaint, said Lt. Patrick Lynch.
According to Lynch, an Ansonia resident reported an unknown male parked a truck in their driveway then walked away leaving the truck in the driveway.

Man Nabbed In Target Parking Lot Robbery, Police Say
A man who allegedly robbed a couple at gunpoint who he met in a Target parking lot to complete an online sale, has been arrested.
Michael Lockhart, 21, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 5, in connection with the Oct. 21 robbery in Ansonia, said Ansonia Police Lieutenant Patrick Lynch.
The arrest was made with search warrants with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department, Stratford Police Department, Connecticut State Police Gang Task Force, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Lynch said.

Police Searching For Two Men Who Allegedly Robbed Area Market
Police are asking the public for help identifying two men, including the one pictured, who robbed an area market at gunpoint.
The incident took place around 6:50 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, in Ansonia, at the S&A Mart, at 95 Division St., when the two men entered the market and demanded the employee turn over all the money in the cash register, said Ansonia Police Lt. Patrick Lynch.
Several hundred dollars and store merchandise were taken during the robbery, Lynch said.

A 30-year-old Connecticut man has gone missing and authorities are asking the public's help in locating him.
In November last year, Brandon Maloney, 30, was reported missing by his family after making alarming statements, the Ansonia Police Department announced. He was later found safe and sound following an exhaustive search.
On Monday, March 2, the Ansonia Police Department issued a new alert for Maloney, who was reported missing on Friday, Feb. 28.

Two men have been charged after a dispute over a parking space at a supermarket in Connecticut turned violent.
It happened on Saturday, Sept. 14 at about 9:15 a.m. at a Stop & Shop in Ansonia on Division Street.
Ansonia Police Department officers, who responded to a report of a dispute involving weapons, located and identified Kamrin Crawford, 43, of Ansonia and Woodrow Ogman, 33, also of Ansonia as the people involved in the dispute over the parking spot.
