Pair From Newtown, Trumbull Face Drug Charges After New Canaan Stop A routine traffic stop for a driver that failed to obey a stop sign in New Canaan led to drug charges for a pair from Fairfield County who were found in possession of marijuana, hash and paraphernalia. Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on Monday night, an officer from the New Canaan Police Department on patrol on Grove Street spotted Newtown resident Adam Joseph Robertson, 19, failing to obey a stop sign at the intersection of Richmond Hill Road.
