Christopher Joseph, age 48, of Stafford, was charged with unlawful discharge of a firearm and five counts of risk of injury to a minor after police found guns unsecured in his home, authorities said.
Stafford Police began investigating Joseph on March 28 after someone shot his neighbor's dog twice in the face. The dog survived its injuries. The neighbor had multiple security cameras around their Collette Road West home, but they did not capture anyone pulling the trigger.
However, two days earlier, the camera captured Joseph walking into his neighbor's backyard with a long rifle and firing at an unknown target, the arrest report said. Days later, another video showed Joseph walking onto his neighbor's property and firing a small-caliber rifle in the direction of a neighborhood and Stafford Road.
Police searched Joseph's home and found multiple guns with ammunition that were easily accessible to his five children, authorities said. None of the firearms had trigger locks.
Stafford Police arrested Joseph on Tuesday, Nov. 5, and he was later released after posting a $50,000 bond, authorities said.
