Storm: Thousands Without Power In Connecticut; Here Are Most Affected Areas

A potent storm system accompanied by strong, gusty winds has caused thousands of customers in Connecticut to lose power.

At around 8:30 a.m. Friday, April 12, more than 3,700 customers were in the dark statewide.

Eversource reported 2,934 affected customers, with the most in Newtown (246), Danbury (219), Coventry (207), Plymouth (169), Ridgefield (165), and Somers (135).

United Illuminating is reporting 753 customers without power, with the most in Shelton (710).

South Norwalk Electric Works is reporting 16 customers without power.
