Road Rage Shooting On Rt 222, Berks County Authorities Say A gunman who shot at another driver near the Berkshire Mall on Monday, July 1 is being sought by police.  The road rage incident unfolded on Route 222 in Wyomissing around 12:45 p.m., authorities announced the following day. A driver in a black Honda sedan fired at another vehicle, striking it twice, according to investigators. No one was injured in the shooting.  Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call Wyomissing Borough police at 610-375-6102 or submit an anonymous tip through the Berks County Crimewatch webpage.

State Police Name Carbon County Man Found In Lehigh River (Updated) A Jim Thorpe man was found dead in the Lehigh River on Monday, July 1, according to state troopers.  Authorities said 33-year-old Felix Dejesus was previously reported as missing and endangered by borough police before his remains were found around noon.  The investigation is ongoing and there is no danger to the public, state police said.  "Updates will be provided as to not jeopardize the integrity of the investigation," said Trooper Anthony Petroski of PSP's Hazleton Station in a statement on Tuesday, July 2.

Passenger Ejected, Seriously Injured In Berks County Crash On I-78 (Updated) Authorities have released additional details in the Interstate 78 crash that shut down a large stretch of the highway on Monday, July 1.  The multi-vehicle wreck happened near mile marker 31 in Hamburg, state police said in a release.  A tractor-trailer was headed west in a work zone when it hit the center concrete barrier, troopers said. US Air Force Member, Father Killed In Lehigh Motorcycle Crash Edgar Guadarrama Jaimes, a Coopersburg father and husband, died in a motorcycle accident last Wednesday, June 26, officials have said. He was 30.  Guadarrama Jaimes was pronounced dead at the scene of the Interstate 78 crash, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's Office.
