GREENWICH, Conn. The Greenwich High boys lacrosse team surprised many with its run to the conference title in 2010. But the team never quite got its wheels turning last season. The Cardinals finished 10-6 in an up-and-down regular season and fell in the conference and state quarterfinals.
The 2012 season will not be any easier for Greenwich after 12 seniors graduated last year. In the video, head coach Scott Bulkley talks about how the few seniors on his team will have to lead the underclassmen. He also talks about how tough the conference is no matter how experienced or inexperienced a team is.
Greenwich is heading straight into the fire to begin its 2012 campaign, opening on the road at Ridgefield on April 4 with a 6 p.m. game. The Cardinals host defending state champion Wilton in their home opener April 7.
Over the next week, until Opening Day on April 4, Main Street Connect will bring video previews of some of the top-ranked boys and girls lacrosse teams across Fairfield County. Keep your eye out for them on our sister websites and our YouTube page.
