YMCA Of Greenwich Marlins Dive Team Wins 23 Medals At National Championship

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The YMCA of Greenwich Marlins Dive Team won 23 medals at the 2016 YMCA National Diving Championship, which was held March 18 to 20 at the Coral Springs Aquatic Complex in Coral Springs, Fla.

Of the 10 teams participating in the competition, the Marlins placed third overall, with the girls' team finishing in second place and the boys' team finishing third.

Sixteen-year-old James Hopper of Greenwich had a particularly strong showing in the competition, winning both the 3-meter event and the platform, and placing second in the 1-meter.

“It was a great weekend for the Marlins” said Dylan Korn, co-head coach of the team. “Everyone put in a lot of hard work leading up to nationals, and we’re very proud of how everyone performed.”
