The 13-year-old from the Riverside section of Greenwich is one of 36 boys in his age group in the U.S. to be selected. This is the second time Tyler has been selected to attend a U.S. National training session after participating in the September training camp held at the US Soccer National Training Center in California. Tyler was also selected to attend the Region 1 Olympic Development training camp in Arizona this past November but was unable to attend due to other U.S. Soccer Federation commitments, representatives said.
“I'm really psyched to go to the U.S. National training camp," said Tyler in a release. "I have learned a lot from the NYSC coaches -- they focus on technical skill and a good style of play. Through NYSC, I have also gotten coaching from coaches of some of the best teams around the world, like Chelsea, Ajax and Boca Juniors. But most of all, I love NYSC because I have fun.”
Tyler attends Brunswick School, where he is in eighth grade and maintains an A average.
“It’s been great to see Tyler’s development and how his commitment and dedication have paid off with this early achievement," said NYSC President Mark Heffernan in a release. "We wish him the best at his second U.S. National training camp."
