Seven GWP Players Named All-American

USA Water Polo has named seven members of the Greenwich Water Polo team Academic All-Americans. Scott Anderson, Clayton Hardman, Tom Jensen, James Kelly, Simon Tebbe, Matt Weber and J Whelan were named to the team for excellence in the pool and in classroom. Seven players is the most ever selected from GWP in one year.

"We have a bunch of intelligent players out there," Coach Terry Lowe said. "They make contributions to their schools and to the team."

Six of the seven All-Americans were recognized as "Outstanding Achievers" for maintaining a 4.0 GPA or higher. Students have to maintain a GPA of at least 3.6 to be considered for All-American status by USA Water Polo.  Most of these players will be on the Greenwich High School team this coming season.

"Most of those guys are going to be at the core of a very, very good team," Lowe said. "Their contributions to Greenwich Water Polo have been very, very positive."
