Schutzman Shines, But Brunswick Comes Up Short

GREENWICH, Conn. - Brian Schutzman hurled a complete game Saturday for Brunswick School, striking out seven in seven innings, but the Bruins offense could not back him up. Despite Schutzman's sparkling outing, Brunswick could not muster a run all afternoon, falling to Rye Country Day, 1-0.

The Gettysburg College-bound Schutzman gave up only three hits and two walks in the loss.

"Brian was unbelievable for us. He threw all three of his pitches for strikes and kept us in the game. That was one of the best games I've seen him pitch," Brunswick assistant coach Tim Daly said. "Our pitching and defense is right where we expected it to be."

Brunswick (0-2) will try to get into the win column at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday when it hosts Hamden Hall.
