Olympic Diver To Host Clinic In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. — For those who have dreamed of learning to dive, the YMCA of Greenwich will host a clinic with Olympic silver medalist Scott Donie on July 19 and 20.

Donie won the silver medal in the 1992 Summer Olympics on the 10-meter platform and was a three-time National NCAA Division I champion. He also placed fourth in the 3-meter springboard at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta.

“The Greenwich YMCA is very excited to welcome Scott Donie to host this diving clinic,” said Peter Barhydt of Aberdeen Associates. “The Olympics are in two weeks, and we have a silver medalist here in town.”

Donie, head diving coach at New York University, has coached He has coached 15 All-American divers since he started working at the school 12 years ago, according to a statement.
