Knights Golf Outing Benefits Scholars

It may be the dog days of summer, but local golf tournaments are still heating up. The Greenwich Knights of Columbus will host its annual Ed Kavanagh Golf Outing on Sept. 13 at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course. The event has sold out for the last two years, so golfers are encouraged to sign up soon.

For $175, players get a round of golf with prizes and games on the course, a barbecue lunch, and a beef tenderloin dinner reception at the clubhouse afterward. Funds raised support the council's scholarship fund, the "Kavanagh Scholars." Last year, eight college students received scholarships for "demonstrating a strong community spirit and a financial need."
