Jamgochian Falls in Senior Golf

Greenwich's Deb Jamgochian won one match before being eliminated in the second round of match play at the U.S. Senior Women's Amateur at Fiddlesticks Country Club in Fort Myers, Fla.

Jamgochian won her first match 4-and-3 over Anne Carr of Seattle. In the second round, Jamgochian lost in 20 holes to Claudia Pilot of Austin, Minn. Jamgochian went 1-up on the first hole, trailed throughout much of the back nine and extended the match with a birdie on the final hole of regulation. Pilot won the match with a par on the second extra hole.

The U.S. Senior Women's Amateur features the top players ages 50-and-over. Jamgochian had to go through a rigorous qualifying tournament to make the field, then grabbed one of the 64 slots in the match play portion by tying for 20th in two rounds of stroke play.
