Wednesday is opening day for high school spring sports across the state of Connecticut. Seven varsity teams and four non-CIAC teams from Greenwich High School will be in action Wednesday across Fairfield County.
The boys golf team hosts Norwalk at 3:15 p.m. The softball team hosts St. Joseph and the girls tennis team welcomes Trinity Catholic at 4 p.m.
The baseball team heads to St. Joseph, the girls outdoor track team takes on Staples and the boys tennis team faces Trinity Catholic at 4 p.m. The boys lacrosse team travels to Westhill at 5 p.m.
In non-CIAC action, the boys and girls sailing teams have races at 4 p.m. The girls water polo team takes on Suffield Academy at 4:15. The boys rugby team hosts Darien at 5 p.m.
