Greenwich Rower Named to U.S. Paralympic Team

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. – Stamford’s Alex Stein and Greenwich’s Andrew Johnson have been named to the U.S. team that will compete in the 2012 Paralympic Games in Great Britain in August.

They will be on the legs, trunk and arms four with coxswain, pending final approval of the U.S. Olympic Committee. Dorian Weber, Eleni Englert and Emma Preuschl round out the crew.

Stein and Johnson were part of the team that competed with Englert and Preuschl at the World Rowing Championships last year in Bled, Slovenia. The Paralympic Games begin Aug. 29. Their event is scheduled for Aug. 31.

Selection for the crew was determined based on lineup evaluations and training camp performance under U.S. adaptive rowing coach Karen Lewis.
