Wins 2nd Straight

GREENWICH, Conn. — The Brunswick baseball team's bats have come alive of late after struggling in the first two games of the season. The Bruins pounded out 11 runs on eight hits, including home runs by Nick Kono and Brandon Muto, in an 11-2 victory over Greens Farms Academy.

Brian Schutzman recorded his second straight stellar outing, this time earning the win. Schutzman went a complete-game seven innings, striking out nine and allowing only three hits. He has racked up 16 strikeouts in 13 innings pitched so far this season.

Muto finished with a homer and three RBIs, Jack Voigt went 2-for-2 with a triple and three runs scored, Billy O'Malley went 2-for-4 with a triple and Bradley Wilpon and Justin Cedeno each had triples to pace a balanced Bruins attack.

It was the second straight game the Bruins managed double-digit runs after crushing Hamden Hall, 13-7, on Tuesday. Brunswick (2-2) hosts Choate on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
