Brunswick Basketball Off to Rocky Start

Brunswick School, the reigning Fairchester Athletic Association boys basketball champions, is off to a rocky start. Greens Farms Academy stunned the Bruins in Greenwich on Monday night with a come-from-behind 55-52 victory. It was the first time in school history the Dragons have beaten Brunswick in boys basketball.

The Bruins entered halftime with a 28-24 lead, but Greens Farms opened the second half with an 11-0 run. The Dragons clung to a one-point lead with less than a minute remaining, when disaster seemed to strike. Brian Comey lost control of the ball, turning it over to Brunswick. On the ensuing inbounds pass, Billy Murphy's jump shot from just outside the free-throw line hit the front of the rim. The Dragons rebounded and drew a foul, sealing the win.

Dan Chase scored 21 points for Greens Farms, while 6-foot-9 sophomore forward Sean Obi racked up 14. Devin Mehra led Brunswick with 18 points. Murphy ended the game with 13 points, but only two in the second half. Greens Farms is off to a 2-0 start, while Brunswick has stumbled out of the gate, going 0-2.
