Report: Greenwich Examines Racial Inequality Within Its Schools

GREENWICH, Conn. -- The Greenwich public school system, where minority students make up a third of the overall population, is examining racial inequality in some of its buildings and looking for solutions, The New York Times reports.

Under state law, no school’s nonwhite enrollment can deviate from the districtwide average for schools with the same grade levels by more than 25 percentage points. Two schools on the western edge of town have too few white students, and two schools on the far eastern and northern sides of town nearly have too few minority children, the story says.
